I was nineteen when my doctor told me that I had been infected with an unusual blood disorder that caused my kidney to deteriorate. During the course of my treatment, I was observed in an MRI scan and was prescribed with numerous drugs. Many blood and urine samples were taken from my body for tests. My health began to deteriorate as I approached my twenty-first birthday with the blood tests showing a worsening kidney condition. It was at this time that my doctor cautioned my grandmother that I may require regular dialysis treatment if my condition worsened. He also told my grandmother that there’s a high possibility that I may not be able to recover from my current situation and was given a few years to live.

It was during this period of devastation and uncertainty that my friend shared the love of Christ with me. He explained the salvation message and the reason Jesus Christ died on the cross. The message that Christ rose from the dead and those who believe in Him shall not die but have eternal life (John 11:25) gave me tremendous hope. The promise of life after dead was the catalyst for me to trust and proclaim Him as my Saviour. Just after my twenty-first birthday, I gave my life to Jesus Christ. It was the great news in the midst of hopelessness and the uplifter of my soul when it was ebbing away.
My life changed completely after accepting Christ. I was no longer afraid to die as I knew that my spirit and soul will rejoice with Him. I found peace within me. My following blood test revealed that the concentration of impurities in my blood was reducing and my kidney was healing. My doctor was astonished on the improvement and mentioned that I was a very fortunate man. At that moment, I knew that Jesus had healed me.
Hallelujah! Praise be to the Lord!
